Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of window tinting?
Window tinting can provide UV protection, reduce glare, increase privacy, cut down on heat inside the vehicle or building, and improve energy efficiency by blocking solar heat.
Does the darkness of the tint affect the heat rejection?
The darkness of window tint (how much visible light it blocks) does slightly affect heat rejection, but it is not the only, or even the main, factor. Modern window tints use advanced materials, such as ceramic films, that can block a large amount of solar heat—even at lighter or less dark shades. These films are specifically engineered to reject infrared (IR) radiation, which is the primary source of heat from the sun.
How long will my tint last?
The Geoshield window tint we use will last at least 10 years when properly maintained—if not longer! All of our film comes with a LIFETIME warranty from the manufacturer that covers any premature fading, cracking, or bubbling. See your included warranty card to learn how you can register your new tint!
How should I care for my vehicle after I get new window tint installed?
We always advise waiting to roll the windows down for 2–3 days after install to allow the adhesive to fully cure to the glass. Do not poke, press, or try to remove air bubbles—these are normal and often dissipate as the film cures over 1–2 weeks. Use a soft and non-abrasive cloth, such as a microfiber, when cleaning tinted windows to avoid scratching. ALWAYS avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners.
